We made it through another week! Congratulations! Here are a few things that made me smile this week. (This includes some affiliate links.)
Spiritfarer - This isn’t a new game, but I’ve been finishing up another play through of it, and it is one of my favorite video games in a while. If you like games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing, but you’d like to cry a lot more when you’re playing, this is absolutely the game for you. Resource management along with a gorgeous exploration of death and grief. So, so good.
This Yitty Campaign from Lizzo - Like anyone who pays attention to pop culture at all, I love Lizzo. I especially love her inclusive nature. And recently, her clothing/underwear line celebrated the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade with a spread of various folks from around the country who have accessed abortion care and they included my friend Ash, a trans West Virginian who works tirelessly for abortion rights and LGBTQ rights here in our state. I love that they had the chance to do this!
Therapy for Guys podcast - I am not a guy, but I am a huge Ted Lasso fan, so when I saw that film critic Devin McGrath-Conwell was going to be on the Therapy for Guys podcast to discuss the masculinities of Ted Lasso, I was intirgued. It’s a fantastic episode and definitely worth checking out.
“Everything Everywhere All At Once” cleaning up with all the Oscar nominations - I love this movie so, so much and I am absolutely THRILLED with all of the nominations it received. May it win all of them, even though that is absolutely impossible since two are are in the same category. Though I’m fine if we make an exception so both Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu win best supporting actress.
