Hello, all! I hope you had a week where at least one or two good things happened. Sometimes it can be hard to see, but let’s try, shall we? Here is what has been getting me through.
The final trailer for Tears of the Kingdom - I have absolutely mentioned TOTK here before, but Nintendo dropped the last trailer for the new Legend of Zelda game, and the hype level here is absolutely off the charts. Ganondorf is back and swole as heck, reminding us all to drink more water. Truly, I am just so excited.
Jack Black’s ‘Peaches’ video - As I mentioned earlier this week, I was pleasantly surprised by “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” The least surprising part, however, was Jack Black absolutely dominatin the role of Bowser. The second I heard he was cast, I was fully on board with it, mostly because Jack Black can do pretty much anything. He proves it in the video he released, singing the song he performs in the movie. The green suit, the red-maned hat, the spiked cuffs, the sparkly shoes - absolutely no notes.
‘Godbreathed’ Trailer - My friend Zack Hunt is releasing his second book, “Godbreathed” on May 9 and he put out a book trailer for it this week. Zack is funny, educated, and thoughtful, and if you’re looking for a different way to read the Bible, this might be worth checking out.
Public Libraries - A few years ago I decided that I really wanted to get back to reading more regularly, but I among the easily distracted, and actually reading a book with my face takes so long these days. So I started going through my husband’s Audible library, and discovered that I love audiobooks. But while we have some similar book tastes, they are not exact, and there were lots of books I want to read that he has no interest in, and in truth, books get expensive. Enter the public library. The Libby app connects you to your local library and has so many books on it. Also, your local library may be able to connect you with Kanopy, an amazing directory of movies, often stuff you can’t find elsewhere. We have places literally threatening to close public libraries and that is some TERRIFYING NONSENSE. So go support your local library. You will not be sad that you did.
What has been making you happy this week? Let me know in the comments!
We got some flowers planted in our front yard, and that makes me happy.
The behind-the scenes making of Black's music video was even more hysterical!
