Hey, friendos! It’s almost the weekend! Let’s talk about the stuff we loved this week.
Pedro Pascal SNL Mario Kart Trailer - I have a thing for actors who really hit their stride and have breakout success in their 40’s, and Pascal has found that, so I’m here for everything he does right now. And this Mario Kart bit from SNL is utterly delightful. I am not super excited about the SMB movie coming out in April, but if they want to option this skit into a movie, I’d be down.
Popcorners Commercial - My love for Breaking Bad is eternal. Some day I will need to write about it here just because I love it so much. So despite the show being over for nearly a decade, I am just thrilled to see Walt, Jesse, and Tuco back in this utterly absurd commercial.
Tears of the Kingdom Trailer - I have been a Legend of Zelda fan for a long time. I couldn’t tell you when I played my first LoZ game, but it’s one franchise I’ve enjoyed for a while. Like other fans, I’ve been waiting for the latest game for a while. We’re getting close to the release date, and in the latest Nintendo direct, we got a new trailer. Gannon speaks? What???? Let it be May now, please!
Katie Mae’s Dailies - Katie is someone I blogged with back before blogs were newsletters. I always enjoyed her writing style. She is funny and smart and prolific. I’m over here slaving away to get 800 words down and she’s regularly publishing 10k that are all fantastic. Her Substack is focusing on a recent autism diagnosis, coupled with look at her faith deconstruction. I absolutely love reading her words again, and you might as well!
What have you enjoyed this year? What’s your favorite video game? Let me know!
Katie Mae - You have a new reader! And Alise we need to collaborate on a Friday favs. Mario Kart was up there for me too. I rewatched it a few times.
Thank you so much, Alise! What an amazing honor to wake up to this morning. I have been enjoying reading your posts as well. Your movie reviews have definitely changed my mind on giving something a shot I wasn’t going to watch. And your Ted Lasso posts are chefs kiss. Having you and MPT back in the blogging world is giving me 2010s nostalgia in all the best ways. Return of the Blog (set to the tune of Return of the Mack)! ❤️
