I’m back! Sorry about last week. I’m playing in the pit for a local performance of “Frozen” and the rehearsal/performance schedule has been kicking my butt. I am having a great time, but it’s been a hot second since I’ve had to be out of the house every night and by the time I realized I hadn’t written a post, I decided to just let it go. (GET IT????) Anyway, I’m back at it today! (Some links are affiliate - if you click, you help support me with no additional charge to you!)
The “Shrinking” finale - Good heavens, what a good show. I know I’ve written about it here a few times, but it really was so lovely. An honest, but funny look at grief and family dynamics. The whole thing is worth watching if only for Harrison Ford’s performance in “Apology Tour.” The finale was gorgeous and gave us quite the cliffhanger (!!!!) of an ending. My “hot as shit shoes” will always be some kind of boot, but I get it.
Speaking of “Shriking,” I bought I giant water bottle - I have been obsessed with Gaby’s water bottle in the show. I never got on the HydroFlask train, but these giant gallon water bottles just absolutely delight me. I decided to go for one of the motivational jugs and I feel both super ridiculous and like a health goddess when I carry it around. It is absurd, and absurd is very much the vibe I give off.
The new Wes Anderson movie trailer - This looks like so much fun! Anderson is one of the pretentious white guy directors I really like, so I’m always up for one of his new movies. This one has everyone in it AND aliens. So yeah. I’m pretty stoked.
The premier of Succession - I am still sad that this is the last season, but this is going to be so great. Also, my oldest and I are watching it together. One of my favorite things is to find a show that we both love and then texting each other while we watch it. We did that with The Last of Us and now we’re doing it with Succession. It’s a weird, fun way to keep in touch.
What made you happy this week? Let me know in the comments!
Shrinking was fabulous and I’m going thru a little withdrawal right now. Think it felt final as in if there’s no season 2 I can live with it. Have my new show “The big door prize” and “murder mystery 2” to get me thru it. The latter is just good fun and the former gives “Severance” feels.
