Oscar Nomination Thoughts

Or "why I love the Oscars even though I hate them"

I have this intense love/hate relationship with The Oscars.

On one hand, I love seeing art and artists recognized for excellence. There is something truly beautiful about seeing people rewarded for the work they do. 

On the other hand, the Academy snubbed Toni Collette for her work in Hereditary and I can never forgive them for that slight. NEVER

.But honestly, I do have complicated feelings about the Oscars and I wanted to try to break that down a little bit.
