I’m heading out for a long weekend with a couple of dear friends, so I figured it might be a good time for a wee bit of housekeeping.
I appreciate all of you who have joined me due largely to my Ted Lasso series. I have really enjoyed writing it. In fact, I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve been working on a book that explores these same topics in way more depth. It’s based on the Relationship Guide in that it’s taking a look at the various relationships in Ted Lasso and seeing how we can apply the principles to our lives.
It will include a bit more memoir-type material, a lot more research, and I hope to have my first draft finished by the end of the summer. I’m about 20,000 words into it now, so I’m a bit behind schedule, but that’s a me-imposed deadline. Then revisions and then hopefully sending it out to agents to see if it’s something of interest. So far, far away from being a book you can hold, but it’s in the works!
That said, it’s been kind of hard to both write a book and keep up with posts here on that topic, so I’m thinking that it might be time to shift gears. I’m not really planning to write less, but I’m thinking about tackling another show. Because it’s a show that I love and it’s one that I have already written about a little bit, I think I’m going to do a deep dive on BoJack Horseman. I am someone who has a tough time getting into animated shows, and I’m probably not alone on that, so maybe I can convince a couple of hesitant folks to give it a shot. It’s truly some of the best television writing I’ve ever encountered, so this should be fun. Or if not fun (a lot of the show isn’t fun), enlightening. I hope you’ll stick around for it!
Anyway, that’s it for today! Hope you’re enjoying your summer and are finding fun things to do. I’d love to hear about any trips you’re taking or any good television you’re watching or any fun things you’re doing this summer. See you soon!
I know this wasn’t part of your prompt, but I feel compelled to share that I LOVED Tom and Jerry as a kid, so appreciate that GIF choice. 😼🫶🐭
