I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve written something on the more personal side, and I hate that. A lot of writing for me is about sharing what’s going on in my life. I love doing that through film reviews, but I’ve missed doing longer essays that aren’t reviews, per se. With the book release less than two months away, I think I am getting closer to having time to do that again. So yay! (Also, as thoughts about The Next Book start to form in my brain, expect to see some of that show up here!)
Also yes! The release of The Ted Lasso Relationship Guide is less than two months away! It will be available to own on May 24, one week before the one-year anniversary of the finale of Ted Lasso. Pre-orders will be sometime in early May and that seems SO SOON. I have a cover that I absolutely adore and I hope to share with you in the next couple of weeks. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the art that will be in the book.
I have been working to secure endorsements, which is horrifying! It is absolutely the worst to send an email to someone and ask them to tell other people that your book is good. That said, people are super kind, and I am grateful to everyone who has agreed to read the book and share an endorsement.
I am also preparing to set up a launch team for the book. I haven’t quite figured out the best way to do that. If you have any ideas on the best way to do that or the best place to host something like that (Facebook group? WhatsApp channel? Discord server?), I’d love your input.
One last thing is that I wanted to bring attention to some writing I’ve been doing over at Movies We Texted About. I generally write a couple times a month for that site, and it’s been a really good experience. Ayla Ruby is a fantastic editor and the other writers at the site are phenomenal. You can read my reviews here, but be sure to click around and find other writers as well!
Thanks for sticking with me. I love writing film reviews, but I also know that can get a little dry to read, so I really do hope to have some different things coming soon. In the meantime, you’re the real heroes!
