I’m definitely going back to watch it again. I attended a panel post film screening and the host said it was his third time seeing it and he’s picked up on the nuances more with each viewing. I wanted to know what those were! So maybe we both watch again and re-review?
It is genuinely my go-to comfort show. And he is exquisite in it, especially in the last season. Just brilliant. (Also, it must be noted that my comfort TV watching is usually pretty dark!)
“A Real Pain asks if there is a correct way to process the trauma that we experience” - yes 👏 it very much does. Great review!
I'm anxious to watch this one again. It is just such a delicate film that I feel like there are things I must have missed in it.

Wonderful review! I loved this movie so much!
It's so beautiful. And I didn't realize how much I've missed Kieran Culkin since Succession ended!
I am jealous! I need to watch Succession ASAP! Kieran Culkin is everything and I hope to see him in more projects.

Great review -- very perceptive. And I love the headline.
I'm fascinated to see how broad audiences like this movie. I could see frustration at the end, but goodness, I really loved it. Culkin was magical.
