It’s a hard movie to like. I found myself not being too invested in any storyline outcome and just choosing every “bad” or misguided decision. Incidentally I really like Scott Michael Foster (Paul) from his days in the show “Greek” so that was my ultimate motivator in deciding Cami’s fate
I first went for Paul, after trying to push her toward no relationship, which wasn’t a choice. Then I tried again another way and it still wouldn’t let her focus on her career.
I didn’t mention this in the review, but it also felt like a LOT of choices. Mostly though I just really hated the fourth wall breaks. They were so clumsy they made me angry every time. I’m not opposed to that kind of movie, but this felt absurdly lazy. I don’t hate movies often, but I HATED this one.
It was full of clumsy breaks in between the interactive choice and the rolling of the next scene. I felt fatigued by decisions and choice overload. Part of the problem was the characters were so flat for me and I couldn’t get invested in caring one way or the other. I always felt like I knew where a path would go as opposed to experiencing any unexpected delights which you could argue is the whole point of this choose your own adventure pathing but even in those original book series there was more mystery and adventure that was not as predictable to the reader making it more unique
