I think that's what kept me from utter disgust about the child mind. And there is so much humor in it. I desperately wanted to like it because there's everything to like about it! But I couldn't get around Lanthimos' stated vision regarding female empowerment and what was on the screen. She wasn't any freer in Lisbon than she was in London, and that first moment of color being with Wedderburn told me that he felt like a man was necessary for Bella to experience color.
I watched it twice to really, really try to like it. I just couldn't.
